David Canada is a retired Elder in the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He served a variety of appointments in pastoral ministry, as a nursing home administrator, and as an Army Chaplain. He received his M.Div. from Candler School of Theology, his D. Min. from Wesley Theological Seminary, and is a graduate of the Shalom Institute’s Spiritual Guidance program. He is the co-founder of the Kindred Project, an organization that promotes and encourages Wesleyan spiritual practices. He is the author of Spiritual Leadership in the Small Membership Church. David designs and conducts Clergy Spirit-Care retreats with his partners in ministry, Dawn Peck and Joy Crawford. He served as a spiritual director for many years, offering guidance to clergy. David is constantly reading a variety of subjects, and enjoys playing the drums and listening to music. An extrovert who loves being with family and friends, David and his wife of 49 years, Judy, live in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
